The Senior Center is reopening for in-person activities 3 days/week beginning August 9 th! A Grand Reopening Luau will take place on September 7 th, after which we will be open 5 days/week. Please stay in your car, roll down your back window, and a volunteer or staff member will place the meals on your backseat. To pick up your meal, drive into the parking lot on Pomfret Street and line up your car at 11:30 AM. Members of the Senior Center can sign up for meals the day prior by calling the Senior Center at 71. The Senior Action Center is offering its members bagged lunches through August 6 th that can be picked up between 11:30-12:00 Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at the Senior Center. Donations of cleaning supplies are needed for distribution to clients! To limit contact, please take a look at our Amazon Wish List ! All items will be shipped directly to our office! Clients who do not have a phone can come to the Social Services Office during regular operating hours and a staff member will meet with them outside. Appointments must be scheduled in advance by calling 71 x.128. To ensure the safety of our staff and clients, the Social Services Office is conducting all assessments over the phone. Please remember to practice social distancing while shopping. Volunteers are needed to help sort clothing and sanitize donations. We are unable to accept the following items: TVs, upholstered furniture, items with padding/stuffing (including mattresses, pillows, comforters, and sleeping bags), and baby items that may be subject to recalls such as cribs, strollers, and car seats. We are not accepting clothing donations until further notice. Please recognize store capacity limitations. Donations will be sanitized and processed on days of closure to ensure the safety of our staff and customers. Donations are accepted from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM on days that the store is open.
